In Search of Beauty

beautiful art

In your presence
A thousand orchids blossom
To show us the divinity of natural order
When we allow ourselves to see
Specs of heaven’s flakes
Enter our hands’ tastes

In your presence
Sunrises stand still
To soak in your light
Mesmerized by the emerald green sound of your laughter
Hoping for a kiss on the cheek

I would gladly give up a thousand nights
To blossom under a minute of your gaze

“Where have you been all my life?”

I have searched for you in oases,
But all I could find
Were palm trees and fresh water under a scorchingly shaded sky

I have searched for you in heaven, but death is not living
Without you by my side
Roaming in eternity’s swimming pool
Together
Under the protection of a forgiving sky

I have searched for you in lost civilizations
But all I could find were the scrolls of Atlantis,
Aphrodite’s love potion and Time’s desire
To part
With no sign of heart beat’s one true clock
To stop and reunite me with your beauty

When you are ready to find me, I shall be looking for you
Everywhere.
